News: Journey to Atlantis update

Jan. 19th, 2004 -- Locals are once again complaining about the height of Sea World San Diego's Journey to Atlantis.

The ride, which is projected to open Memorial Day weekend, stands 60-feet tall. A local councilwoman thinks it will be an eyesore in the middle of the parkland of San Diego.

I don't think it's an ugly building. It's not like it's a giant phallus or looks like some run-down motel. It's painted with some neat colors and looks pretty cool.

I really don't understand why locals are so bothered by change. This new ride will bring in more money to the community, and they don't want to see that.

WHat a buncha punks. I wouldn't care if it was an eye-sore. Its one hell of a ride. They could put it in my front lawn for all I care.
