Posted at 5:54 PM EST (2254 GMT) Jan. 21st, 2004 -- Big Chief Karts and Coasters announced that they plan to build the "tallest coaster in the Midwest" as part of a huge 2005 expansion. However, it is unknown whether they are including Ohio as part of the "Midwest" or not. No other details about the coaster are being specified.
This will be the largest expansion in the park's history. Nickolaos Laskaris, the new park co-owner, stated that plans were already made to expand the park before Jim Laskaris, the late owner, died. The park is now owned and operated by Nickolaos and his wife Eva, as well as Jim's daughter Penelope and her husband, Nicholaos Rokanas.
The main goal of expanding Big Chief is to give it more of a theme park atmosphere. The first part of the coaster is to be completed in the spring, and another top secret ride is slated to open this summer. The park is also starting a pay-one-price admittance policy.
And the final change might be small or large--the park will change its name to "Big Chief Mt. Olympus Theme Park".

They are definately not including Ohio. Otherwise, they'd be advertising it as the biggest coaster in the world.

Obviously not, but this is still huge. I wouldn't feel safe on this coaster though if they have the same ride-ops as they normally do.
Add this to the list of awesome stuff a park adds after I move away, Big Chief gets a huge coaster, SFGAm gets a whole new section, and at SFOG I'm getting a mini-mine train. I'm so lucky. ;)

Raging Bull checks in at 202', and Wild Thing is at 207'. I'm going to guess that their new ride with be somewhat taller that those such as 220'-250.' As for the company that will build this ride, I'm going to guess Intamin because they can build a ride cheaper than other companies.

The Midwest? You know how many GIANT coasters there are in the Midwest. CP and PKI both have coasters over 200 ft. It will have to be big.

CP and PKI aren't considered midwest for some reason. I guess they're considering the "real" midwest.
