 Jun. 20th, 2005 -- Alton Towers went on the defensive this week concerning an April incident in which 12-year-old Amelia Seiga suffered sprained wrists after riding Rita: Queen of Speed.
Initially, medics declared that Seiga's wrists were sprained, but X-rays taken a week later showed fractures in both wrists. Investigations from both Alton Towers and the Health and Safety Executive concluded that the roller coaster was safe and no changes need to be made. Seiga's mother claimed the force of the ride bent her daughter's wrists backwards. She is seeking to raise Rita's height requirement from its current limit. See BBC News for more. Woo, my story went through!
Anyways, it's really stupid. There's obviously some doubt about her theory. Either way, how is height limits gonna fix it?

What a silly theory. If that was the case then everyones wrists would have been injured by now.
And this thing is slow compared to TTD or KK.

If they heightened the height then their body will have grown a little bit more on the average, thats why they might heighten the height.

I know Rita is slower compared to the likes of TTD and KK, but the acceleration might be just as fast, if not faster; especially if the launch track is shorter. It would be the acceleration, not the speed wich sprained the wrists...

Well, no matter if the acceleration is faster than TTD or (KK which I'm pretty sure it isn't), it still wouldn't be as high as HyperSonicXLC or anywhere near as high as Dodonpa. How many injuries of this nature have we heard about those two S&S coasters?
