Jun. 30th, 2005 -- A 7-year-old girl complained of numbness, headache, and nausea after riding Six Flags Marine World's Hammerhead Shark ride. Her subsequent hospitalization has caused the ride to be closed until further notice.
A day after the girl rode the ride, park officials shut it down and notified Cal-OSHA, the state agency responsible for safety in amusement parks. An investigation is underway and is currently awaiting a report from the girl's physician. Hammerhead Shark will not reopen until Cal-OSHA gives its approval. A park spokesman said that there had been no problems with the ride before. See the Vallejo Times-Herald for more.
