News: Great Escape Extends Disaster Relief

Jul. 7th, 2005 -- Lake George, N.Y. – The Great Escape has extended a local disaster relief program with the American Red Cross, Adirondack Saratoga Chapter to assist flood victims as a result of Saturday’s dam break in Fort Ann.  The program, which was originally scheduled to end on Monday, July 4, has been extended through Monday, July 11.

Through July 11, 2005, guests of The Great Escape who request the “Red Cross Discount” will receive $7 off the regular general admission price of $35.99 plus tax. The Great Escape will, in turn, donate a portion of the proceeds from each discounted, general admission pass sold during this time to the American Red Cross, Adirondack Saratoga Chapter specifically for the purpose of local disaster relief.

 “The Great Escape is pleased to be able to extend our partnership with the American Red Cross, Adirondack Saratoga Chapter to help our neighbors in Fort Ann who have been affected by recent flooding,” said the Great Escape Director of Marketing Jennifer Mance.

In addition to assisting flood victims in Fort Ann, the Red Cross, Adirondack Saratoga Chapter recently opened shelters in Essex and Warren Counties when severe thunderstorms, heavy rains and road washouts led to the official declaration of a state of emergency in each county.
