Jul. 21st, 2005 -- Hong Kong Disneyland invited a group of journalists yesterday to attend the park's preview day. The journalists say that the park takes the traditional Disney theme park and adds a Chinese flair to it.
Many aspects of the park are typical of Disney parks. The park features the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, along with rides like Space Mountain and a 3-D movie theater that will show classic Disney movies combined with special effects. Another side of the park is distinctly Chinese, particularly the food. Hong Kong Disneyland substitutes the usual theme park fare for Chinese dishes, even including shark's fin soup until it was removed from the menu due to pressure by environmentalists. Disney hopes that the food will make the park more attractive to visitors from mainland China. Visit Turnto10.com for more.
