Posted at 9:25 PM EDT (0125 GMT) Jul. 25th, 2005 -- Dorney Park's wave pool is so popular on hot days that the park says it needs to build a second wave pool to alleviate congestion.
The new pool, dubbed Wave Pool II, would open in time for the 2006 operating season. It would cost about $4.5 million and be about a third smaller then the existing one. Dorney plans to build the pool in what is currently a parking lot, taking up about 62 spaces. The park does not expect parking or traffic problems to arise. Dorney's last addition to the Wildwater Kingdom waterpark came in 2004 when the park spent $6 million on new waterslides and a wave pool renovation. Visit The Morning Call for more.
