Aug. 8th, 2005 --
Lazy summer afternoons along the shore of Lake Shafer have become a right of passage for native Hoosiers. Indiana Beach is celebrating it's 80th year of operation.
From it's days as Ideal Beach to it's current place as the thrill capital of Northern Indiana, Indiana Beach visits have been a tradition among families, allowing many more rides for younger children and shorter lines compared to the bigger area amusement parks. The park will offer 80 cent rides after 4pm on August 21st to celebrate. For more information and memories, see: The South Bend Tribune.
