Aug. 18th, 2005 -- Santa Clara, Calif. - The Nickelodeon Celebration Parade is back in 2005 with new floats, new characters and more high-energy family fun. As the 30-minute interactive parade dances through Paramount’s Great America weekends only Sept. 3 - Oct. 30, guests will be entertained by seven motorized floats surrounded by more than 20 Nickelodeon® characters including SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer , five interactive games and a cast of nearly 100 performers.
The Nickelodeon Celebration Parade, winner of IAAPA’s 2004 Big E Award for Best Production: Parade Performance, literally brings families to their feet and face-to-face with Nickelodeon characters with five interactive games along the parade route. Kids become part of the parade excitement and have the opportunity to beat drums with Donnie from the Wild Thornberrys , play Pin the Tail on the Donkey with Little Bill and toss jellyfish with SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends. Danny Phantom , star of his own Nickelodeon show, joins in the fun and mysteriously emerges at Paramount’s Great America in 2005. The 14-year-old superhero stirs up a little magic of his own atop his ghoulish parade float that looks like his dad’s laboratory. Only the most lucky and daring park guests will have the chance to see Danny Phantom during this limited park engagement. This year, fans of Nick Jr.’s Dora the Explorer, the No. 1 preschool show among kids ages 2 - 5, meet Dora’s fun-loving cousin, Diego . Dora and Diego climb aboard their own festive parade float wrapped in brilliant colors for the fun-filled fiesta. The pair teaches children Spanish and greets fans with a resounding Hola! throughout the parade route. Families won’t want to miss a special Halloween version of the parade weekends throughout October! To coincide with the park’s month-long Nick-or-Treat Halloween event, the parade will include fun Halloween music, costumed cast members and the chance for children dressed in costumes and their parents to join the parade alongside their favorite Nickelodeon friends! The Nickelodeon Celebration Parade is presented Saturdays and Sundays at 5 p.m. and is free with park admission. Paramount’s Great America is the only place in Northern California where children can meet their favorite Nickelodeon characters.
