The name could be good but not for that ride. It would be an ok name if it was for a tamer ride like the swings or something but not this. Oh well.

I thought the name was probably going to be Pittsburgh Pendulum since it was way ahead of the other names in terms of votes when I voted. It would have been a better name.

Yeah, but they already have Pittsburgh Plunge. Can't name everything after the city that they aren't even in.

The winner of the vote was never meant to be the final winner, the point of that was to allow the park's guests to choose the final 3 names that the park would choose from. IMO, Pittsburgh Pendulum would have been stupid, regardless if it had the most number of votes. I think the park has enough Pittsburgh named rides (Pittsburg Plunge, Pitt Fall) as it is. Plus, the ride is not black and gold, so why would they name it that?
My guess was Scream Xtreme but Swing Shot suits the ride best because it is giving a good description of the ride itself in it's name.
BTW 5150, Kennywood and the city of Pittsburgh are in Allegheny County....Even if the park isn't in the actual city, Pittsburgh is still the closest city by the park.

I didn't think Pitt Fall had anything to do with Pittsburg. I never relate the two before. Is that really why they named it that?

We have a winner. Today Kennywood officials announced that they had chosen a new name for the park's Screamin' Swing ride from the 11,949 names submitted in Kennywood's "Name the New Ride for 2006" contest.
