Oct. 5th, 2005 -- Today Six Flags Great American offered a new pass that gives the holder free, unlimited access to Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, the Brookfield Zoo, and the Shedd Aquarium, all for $99.99. There's a catch, however: A minimum of four of the passes, called Premium Season Passes, must be purchased at a time.
The pass is the result of a partnership between Six Flags, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Brookfield Zoo. The zoo offers almost 2,500 different animals, while the aquarium displays nearly 22,000 creatures and 1,500 individual species. People wishing to buy a Premium Season Pass must physically visit the park to purchase it. The passes can only gain admittance to different destinations at different times of the year. A bearer can get into the amusement park during Fright Fest 2005 and all of the 2006 season, enter the waterpark during the 2006 season, and visit the aquarium and zoo from Nov. 1 of this year to May 31, 2006. See Yahoo Finance for the press release.

Wow, finally another SF park getting the Premium Pass. SFA has successfully had the Premium Pass for about 4 or 5 years now and are always adding things to theirs, though the focus of SFA's Premium Pass is much different from that of SFGAm. SFA's Premium Pass gives you a 20% discount of most all food in the park, exxtra bring a friend free pass, some ERT times just for Premium Pass members, a free breakfast with the Loony Toon Characters, and free tickets/discounts to local sports teams and attractions.

This is a very weird move mad by GAm. Usually, Shedd Aquarium would be more of a tourist attraction, being that it's located in the museum section of Chicago. Brookfield Zoo is a bit more local, in a suburb. I like that zoo too. The thing is, I would only go to Shedd Aquarium once a year, if at all, and same with the zoo. GAm, though, I would go all the time.

It's a way to encourage more visits to all of them. As an example, here we're members of the local science museum. One month a year we can also get into the local zoo and aquarium, and another month we can go to Kennedy Space Center. They're places that we mgiht not go to otherwise, but with free admissions we certainly took advantage of it.
The article wasn't quite clear on one thing though- are these also the normal "get into all Six Flags parks" kind of passes?

I'm pretty sure they would have to offer a normal pass, as there are going to be a lot of people that really won't be interested in the passes to the Shedd and the Brookfield Zoo.

It's interesting. It's also kind of cool since it does include the Fright Fest for this year. So if come was intending to go this year, that would cost them about $40 by itself. So for another $60, that gives them a pass for next season as well as the two other attractions as an added perk. The only problem I have with it is that is only being offered as a 4 pack.
