One word: Lucky. That would have been a great view. A little boring after a while, but great. (Since I know safe coasters are, I don't think it's so bad)

This happened to Oblivion at Alton Towers once, except that it got stuck on the tilt breaks facing down the first drop. This made major headlines over here as the riders were stuck for ages in the cold and rain; they had to be brought blankets and tea!

This isn't the first time it's happened this year. Nor do I doubt for a second that it'll be the last time. I've got pictures around at home somewhere when they were doing another evac like this. This isn't news. This is the coaster's safety system working exactly as it's supposed to. And just about every coaster out there has had to do it at some point.
It must have been a really slow news day. Coaster safety system works as designed- no accident and everyone is safe. Yeah, that's a great headline.

That's strange for a B&M to do anything along those lines IMO.
But after all anything that is man made will have bugs.

I'll have to agree with 'freak here. I do 450-500 rides a year, and have been "stuck" many, many times. As I rack my brain I can't recall ANY of them being B&M machines.

I've been stuck on a couple of B&M's now. Riddler's at SFMM, for example, stops on the lift hill pretty frequently. I've been stuck on Montu and Dragons.
EVERY coaster, and I mean every one, has it's moments. That's part of the design of the coaster. This is nothing ususual, and it's not a problem since it worked exactly as it was supposed to. It would have been news though if the computer hadn't stopped it on the lift and caused a much more "dramatic" problem. :)
I'm sorry, I just don't get all the working up over this. Does that mean it should be news because I have to plunge my toilet a couple of times a year?

I went to cedar point for the first time this summer. and the first ride we did was raptor. and of course, we were stopped on the lift for about 10 minutes. not bad, pretty nice actually. it was at the top and i got a great view of the whole ride. unfortunately the ride started up right as i got my camera out... *sigh*
this isn't huge news. if there was a news report everytime sorcher got stuck on the lift, it would just be boring after a while. (thats a good example of a B&M getting stopped frequently)
