News: Mt. Olympus to build indoor amusement park

Posted at 1:24 AM EDT (0524 GMT)

Oct. 27th, 2005 -- Mt. Olympus Theme Park has announced that they will build a year-round indoor amusement park that will open in 2006. The park will be added on to the current indoor waterpark and include a spinning coaster.

Admission to the indoor amusement park will be included with the outdoor rides when that portion of the park is open. The indoor park, approprietly named "The Parthenon", will be home to Opa, a brand-new spinning roller coaster. The 43,000 square-foot theme park was approved by local government on Tuesday and construction between Mt. Olympus and Treaure Island indoor waterpark has begun.

This is just awesome. It's about time someone start doing this in the north. They will be making money like crazy up at Mt. Olympus this time next year.

Wow. That park is realling coming alive! It is so cool to see a park grow like Mt. Olypus has been that past few years. It seems that they are doing VERY well for themselves.

I'll admit that I haven't really payed much attention to this park (although I have some), and have never been to it. It's such a huge uphill battle to start off (relatively) small and work your way up, but it seems like they're doing pretty well. I'm glad to see it!

When I went to MtO in June I went in the waterpark just to take a few photos.. Not to use anything but it seemed real small... So how much bigger will this add on be? And what kind of spinner will it be?
