It would be really awful to have your homepark close. Not even so much because of the rides, but because of the memories. Some of the visitors to Astroworld probably had some of the happiest days of their lives there. Even if it wasn't a great park (I have no opinion, I haven't been there), I'm sure lots of people are upset.

It's quite depressing. I've heard great things about it, and the one time I went there, I fell in love with the place. It will be missed.

The park is really going to be missed. I'm certainly going to treasure my one visit I had there. And with that, combined from what I've heard and read from others, this is going to be a great loss.
And guys, don't let some immature kid feeding his ego get to you. Ignore him.

I can't imagine a city the size of Houston without an amusement park.
RIP AstroWorld.

Let's hope that the park gets picked up and re-opened. Houston need an amusement park, with a city that size. Glad to hear that big of a turn out though. Houston is a loyal city and that is why I love it.

The park isn't getting picked up and reopened. The rides are all getting dismantled and either shredded or sent to other parks within the Six Flags chain. Then the land is being sold off and will more than likely end up as a business development of some sort.
It's sad, but there is essentially no chance of the park surviving as an amusement park. Even if a small portion is somehow kept for something, none of the rides have any chance of remaining there.
