News: Michigan's Adventure sets attendance record

Posted at 7:09 PM EST (0009 GMT)

Nov. 2nd, 2005 -- It's been a good year for Michigan's Adventure. The amusement park that reported 550,000 guests visited during the 2005 season, an increase of 18 percent from 2004.

Both the increase and the total number of guests set new records for the park. The previous guest record was 480,000 in 2003.

Camille Jourden-Mark, Michigan's Adventure's vice president and general manager, attributed the record numbers to the new Funnel of Fear water ride and a hot, dry summer.

The amusement park, which is the smallest of Cedar Fair's parks, also posted the highest guest increase of the chain's six parks.

WOW. This is very cool, I only went once this year, and it was packed.

Michigans Adventure has potential, they have a lot of land to use up.

If another hot summer comes this year, attendance might increase even more with their new Grand Rapids ride.
