 Feb. 5th, 2004 -- Carl Jennings, the owner of Peony Park in Omaha, Nebraska, is interested in purchasing LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park. Jennings says the chance of him taking over the park is about 50%.
LeSourdville Lake operated in 2002, the only year it has operated since the current owner, Jerry Couch, purchased the park in 2000. Jennings admits the park couldn't compete against parks like Kings Island, but he believes the park could stand on its own. To read more, click here.

"So why do it? Because of the nostalgia, and the Americana - no pun intended," Jennings says. "You're not going to make $1 million on it, but you could keep a historic entity open and make a little money."
OMG I Love this guy! I think it's really cool that he's not the type of person who expects to buy the park and make tons of money off of it. He's right, Groups do really make a difference, and I'm sure with the right marketing campaign, he can do what he's striving to do, which is to keep the park's financial situation in the black.

Thats great to hear. I remember visiting that park a good 8 years ago, and I have yet to visit a park quite like it. The history and all around fun of that park is really something else. It would be a real shame if such a great, nostalgic park were to close, especially with a great woodie like screachin eagle closing with it.

This is awesome! I really hope this park starts operating again. Screechin' Eagle is easily the most underrated wooden coaster in Ohio. It's got some of the craziest airtime I've ever experienced!
