Industry Announcements: Geauga Lake to expand Wildwater Kingdom

Posted at 7:17 PM EST (0017 GMT)

Nov. 14th, 2005 -- When Wildwater Kingdom opens on May 27, guests can have more to look forward to. Geauga Lake today announced that it will build a 30,000-square-foot wave pool at the Wildwater Kingdom waterpark. The new pool, called Tidal Wave Bay, will cost over $5 million. The park will also build 16 new cabanas near the wave pool.

In addition to Tidal Wave Bay, the other big change next year concerns ticket prices. The price for children under four feet, currently $14.95, will drop to $9.95. Geauga Lake will also introduce a senior discount of $9.95 for all guests 62 and over. Other admission costs will remain unchanged.

See the Geauga Lake Website for the official announcement.

There has to be more coming...The area where Phase 2 is going is awefully large and it's going to be pretty empty with just a wavepool there. I have a feeling they'll either be putting more in with the wavepool or they are just leaving room for expansion for future years.
