Industry Announcements: Knott's gets into holiday spirit with 21st annual event

Posted at 7:17 PM EST (0017 GMT)

Nov. 16th, 2005 -- Amusement parks, like the rest of America, are getting into the holiday spirit. Today Knott's announced that it would transform itself into "Knott's Merry Farm" beginning Nov. 24 and running until Jan. 1, 2006.

The event will once again see the transformation of the Timber Mountain Log Ride into Elf Mountain Christmas, giving guests a behind-the-scenes look into the elves' preparations for the holidays. The park's Ghost Town will become Christmas Craft Village, a Victorian-themed town filled with various arts and crafts booths and complete with carolers and decorations.

Guests to the park can also see the "It's Christmas, Snoopy" ice show and "Snoopy's Calico Christmas Celebration". The park is offering admission just into Christmas Craft Village without admission into the park. The village is free with full admission.

See Business Wire for the press release.

There are way too many things that rhyme with Berry...
haha.

Knott's Merry Farm.
Knott's Scary Farm.

What next?
Knott's Dairy Farm.
Knott's Hairy Farm. ;)

But I guess the marketing ploy is very advantageous, and Knott's does well on that. I'd like to visit it. If it's as good as Knott's Scary, it must be excellent.

/ Well, Knott's Merry Farm isn't like Knott's Scary Farm's Halloween Haunt so-to-speak...it's included in general admission unlike Knott's Scary Farm (which is a separately ticketed night event) - and the are no 1,000 Santa Clauses, Elves, Reindeers, and Radioactive Christmas trees lurking in the fog. ;)

It's just a heavily Christmas-decorated version of the park on a normal operating day - with a lot of new activities to do around the park, as well as other neat things you can buy and eat.
