News: Camp Snoopy may lose rights to namesake

Dec. 8th, 2005 -- Camp Snoopy may not keep its name much longer. The "Peanuts"-themed amusement park inside the Mall of America lost the rights to the "Peanuts" characters last spring and ongoing negotiations have so far failed to reach an agreement.

The syndicate that controls the rights to the comic strip characters has allowed the park to continue using the "Peanuts" theme while negotiations continue. A spokesperson for the Mall of America said that Camp Snoopy would continue operating if lost the rights to the characters.
