News: Alton Towers wants to reach new heights

Feb. 6th, 2004 -- Alton Towers theme park in Europe, plans to add a huge 600 foot tall air balloon lookout ride. The air balloon would be able to carry multiple people. The balloon would be tethered to a concrete base. The new ride would allow for a stellar view of the park and surrounding area.

However, local residents are already beginning to complain. One resident says the balloon would make too much noise and stand out as an eye sore. Alton Towers currently has a building restraining order to expand the park until the eastern road is completed.

Alton Towers officials have no idea when or where the balloon would be placed. No details have been released. Alton Towers managers are still working out the issues and details with the parks policies and residents.
