Jan. 6th, 2006 -- After Paramount's Kings Island brought back the Winterfest holiday celebration last year for the first time since 1992, the park announced today that the festival will return for the 2006 holiday season.
Despite some complaints that the $24.99 admission fee at the gate was too high, guest surveys reveal that the 2005 Winterfest was rated the highest out of all events in the park's history. The park would not say how many guests attended the event. Winterfest, which turns Kings Island into a giant winter-themed park, debuted in 1982. It was discontinued following the 1992 event when the park lengthened it's season and officials thought there wasn't enough time to complete the transformation. See The Cincinnati Enquirer for more.
