News: Six Flags Fiesta Texas to add three new water rides

Posted at 6:27 PM EST (2327 GMT)

Jan. 18th, 2006 -- As part of an effort to make the park more family friendly, Six Flags Fiesta Texas is adding three new water rides and a children's play area for the 2006 season.

The park will construct a 50-foot-high waterslide called Big Bender, a six-lane speed slide named Hill Country Racer, and a ride called Whirlpool that will swish riders around a 40-foot-diameter bowl before dropping them into a corkscrew chute. The new play area will be called Splashwater Springs and will feature a pirate ship, squirting palm trees, and a slide.

SF Fiesta Texas will also redesign the waterpark's entry plaza and add a store called Beach Bum Surf Co. The waterpark will reopen May 6.

I thought some one would say something here, but guess not. I guess I will be the only one enjoying this. ;)

Word is that one of the major slides is from AstroWorld (the racing slide) and some smaller structures also came from WaterWorld, in Houston.

I'd figure it would be Texas recycled.

So what is the 40ft. bowl with the corkscrew chute thing? That does not sound like the new funnel slides. Is there a photo of anything like this somewhere?

That caught my eye also. It sounds weird tho, but they always make things sound weird, but they really aren't.
