Industry Announcements: Busch Gardens Williamsburg reveals 2006 improvements

Posted at 6:23 PM EST (2323 GMT)

Jan. 31st, 2006 -- Today Busch Gardens Williamsburg released its plans for the 2006 season. The theme park will introduce three new attractions and modify an existing one.

Curse of DarKastle, which debuted last year, will receive some improvements and be open when the park begins seasonal operation on March 25. An Irish dance show called "Emerald Beat", which replaces the "Irish Thunder" show, will open the same day. A family-friendly concert series, the park's first in a decade, begins May 29 and a circus show that will replaced "Imaginique" starts on June 16.

See the Daily Press for more.

I wonder what the 60 foot thing is. Maybe it's a really high trapeze for the circus.

The 60 foot thing IS for 07. If you look at the forum about the subject of the height waivor, it says that a spokeswoman said it had nothing to do with the feb.1 announcement. so it must be for 07...

Imaginique and Irish Thunder were pretty good and will be missed, but I am SURE that the replacements will be as good or better. Can't wait!

Well,I've seen Irish Thunder a few times, and my mother really liked it,but it was getting kind of old(don't get me wrong,I liked it a lot,but it was time for them to change the show.) I've never seen Imaginique, but from what I heard from my friends,it was nice. So,hopefully, these new shows will do just fine. Hopefully,I get a chance to watch both. Take care SES
