News: Joyland to reopen in April

Feb. 14th, 2006 -- Joyland Amusement Park in Wichita, Kansas, will be making a triumphant return to business this year. It's new owners are planning on reopening the park on April 16, and that it will hold its famous Easter Egg Hunt this year.

The park was sold at auction in December of 2004 after a few years of struggling and finally closing it's doors in July of 2004. But it's new owners are planning on reopening the park this April 16. It's previous owners of more than 50 years, Margaret and Stan Nelson, were able to purchase the park back at that auction. They then sold it last October to T-Rex Group, which is a privately held real estate development and entertainment company. They have headquarters in Tacoma, Washington and Tampa, FL
