News: Woman wins lawsuit against Six Flags Inc.

Posted at 5:29 PM EST (2229 GMT)

Mar. 5th, 2006 -- The jury has decided that it should award Terry Wang, a Wisconsin native, a $3.6 million lawsuit.

Terry Wang suffered a fractured skull and a broken nose when she was riding on The Villain roller coaster in July 2000. She had her arms raised and eyes closed when she was struck with the object going down the hill at 60 miles per hour.

She was in tears as the verdict was read in the Portage County courtroom. Mrs Wang recieved $1.1 million for medical expenses and $2.5 million for punitive damages.

Terry still has headaches and numbness from the accident, as well as having to get reconstructive surgery on her forehead.

Does anyone know what this object is? Loose board? Goose? Camera?

It was an agry rocket from the old circle swings. It took one last flight of revenge. Terrible sad. Six years is a long fight. I don't know that I ever heard of this before. All I have heard about Villain before was that one of the handles came off in a rider's hand once.

She was hit by rocks that some kids had been throwing near the bottom of one of the hills. Apparently maintenance workers had reported to Six Flags that there work rocks on/near the track, indicating that it was known that people were throwing rocks at the ride. Shortly after the incident they added additional fence at the bottom of the hills, making the fence higher and harder to though rocks over.

Anyway, I'm glad she got her money.

I just wish that the inconsiderate individuals who threw the rocks in the first place were charged, and duly punished. I'm not trying to defend Six Flags, but the rocks should not have been thrown in the first place.

If that story is correct, I am not sure it is Six Flags' fault....
