The Texas Tornado at Six Flags Over Texas experienced a malfunction Sunday evening that brought the ride to an unexpected stop. When the interuption happened, seven people received minor injuries as the worker brought the ride to a stop.
The seven injured people were taken to the park's first aid station where they were treated and released. One woman who was complaining of back pain was taken to a local hospital to be examined. The ride, which opened in 1983, is a circular swing ride. The injuries occured as the chairs were descending from their elevated position during the ride cycle and some of them bumped into each other. The ride will be closed pending an evaluation by park engineers. For more information, see the Star-Telegram.
