So Paramount is actually going back to Hanna Barbara? IMO the nicktoons is an okay idea, but HB seems better suited to parks.

This news article should be for every park as they're all getting the same movie.

Well it's about time! I was just thinking about this the other day...that spongebob movie is SO OLD! I am glad we are getting a new one...
but like Tanks4me05 said, they are going back to Hannah Barbara? This makes no sense! They expanded and re-themed the kidz are from Hannah to Nick...and now they are getting this...well at least it is something new.

Yeah I thought they were moving to ALL Nickelodeon stuff. I prefer the Hanna Barbara things, and am glad to see this.

Did the other Paramount parks really re-theme their hanna barbera themed areas, because PCW still has their Hanna Barbera land ,and Nick Central, as two totally different things.

Im wondering if they will use the song from the original FUNTASTIC WORLD OF HANNA BARBARA ride at Kings Island.
These are friends that live in my TV!
It's a catchy toon, To bad most park goers probably wont remember half the HB lineup or are two young to know them

I don't know if all parks are getting it. If they are nothing has been released except for the 2 parks.
Spongebob will also be running this year as well.

It is confirmed for three parks (PCW, PKD, PC), so it's pretty safe to say that all 5 will probably get them.

Carowinds had this…it was one large area for families, half themed of Hannah and the other half of Nick stuff, but then last year they combined it all together into one huge Nick area. So, it seems as if they were doing the “Out with the old, in with the new” thing, but I guess not because of this…

Kids today dont associate cartoons with Hanna Barbera. They may know who Scooby, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, etc... are, but they have nothing to identify it with. When kids think Cartoons, they tend to think of Nickelodean.
So is it possible that the re-theme could largely just be called Nickelodean, even though it could encompass more than "just" Nickelodean properties? Just a thought.

It seems to be a trend that all of the Paramount Parks will eventually be "nicked". PC was first then PKI and I suspect the rest of the parks over the next 5 years will see their Hanna-Barbera rides and attractions converted.

Isn't it a contract thing? If it wasn't, it would be cool if they had something like "Hanna-Barbera meets Nickelodeon" and have a huge variety of character and themes.

Honestly it is hard for little kids to relate to Hanna-Barbera. Just walk up to one of those little kids in the toy section of Wal-Mart or something and say, "Hey yogi, get the pickanic basket..." and they'll likely run away screaming...or they could run away screaming no matter what you did these days...
But I like both sides of the cake you know? So if theres anything I want to see... it's two sides of every paramount park devoted individually to both of these franchises. (But this would never ever in a million years happen.)

This argument came up with Six Flags / Bugs Bunny - Same logic. The parents can relate to the older H/B cartoons - they will bring their kids to show their childhood friends. It will work, for the same reason the Six Flags / WB thing will work.
