Feb. 11th, 2004 -- A 38-year-old costumed worker was killed after being crushed by a float before an afternoon parade at Walt Disney World. The accident occurred backstage as the worker was preparing to enter the park.

The man had worked at the park for eight years. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Disney spokeswoman Rena Callahan said she was not sure if any guests witnessed the accident.

Callahan said there has "never been an accident like this before (at Disney World)."

I don't get how this would happen, but its probably very hard to see out of those floats.

Man that would suck. I know I'm going to die someday, but I wouldn't want to be crushed. The details seem a bit sketchy to me, but I understand the outcome.
