This shows that Disney recognizes that Mission Space may have been a mistake, but they aren't willing to throw away all those millions and take it out.

What?!
This of course means there's now going to be longer lines for the one that actually spins. People should know their limitations before riding.

You can't fault people who have no idea that they have a prexisting condition for going on the ride. I'm sure some of us have health problems that should technically keep us from riding but we either don't know about or don't take them seriously.

Just as Phil says, any of us could have an aneurysm and not know it. For those things to burst, it could take something as stressful as an intense thrillride or coaster, or something as simple as picking up the newspaper in the morning.

Interesting...I kinda like the idea. People should take note now with all the bad press they've gotten over this one ride.

But, in the case of the recent woman. Most people know if they have high blood pressure problems.

I personally think it's a crazy idea. How on earth can this ride be fun without spinning. People might as well stay home and watch TV.
There really is no point in riding if all you do is sit in the seats and look at the tv screen.

Well, the ride has other functions besides spin, you know. It does tilt, pitch and yaw just like every other simulator out there. It just won't spin to create the positive g's felt during the take off and landing sections. It will still move around a bit....

All those people who have problems they didn't know about will still more than likely ride the one that does spin...
Those who would be interested in the non-spinning version should just go across the park and ride Soarin'.

I'm happy to see this change come about. People getting sick or dying shows that Disney created something beyond what a large segment of its clientelle comes to expect from a Disney park.
Althogh I enjoyed the unique experience of the ride, after my last visit I decided that I probably wouldn't ride again on future trips...it's just more than I wish to tollerate. This modified version of the ride is a welcomed change for me that will allow me and other members of my family to still enjoy the attraction.

Great solution - let those who have heart conditions (a HUGE percentage of the population) experience the ride yet feel comfortable with it. This will cause longer lines on the others? I think that's being a bit dramatic since, at most, it would tack on 33% to the wait time - but that's assuming no one would ride in the weakened bay which just won't be the case so I'd think at most you are talking about 10 minutes extra per hour if the new centrifuge only goes 1/2 full each cycle. Not THAT bad and MUCH better than removing it because no one wants to ride the "death machine".

My brother in-law made this sign that could be posted at the point where riders have to choose between the two.

So, how are they going to split it up? Will they do it every other ride, or by the hour, or by the day? I guess every other ride would be the way to do it if they computer could handle it.

They have numerous centrifuges, so they'll just set one or two aside as the non-spinning options.
