News: Disneyland exhibit coming to Oakland museum

Posted at 6:40 PM EDT (2240 GMT)

May. 4th, 2006 -- The "Behind the Magic -- 50 Years of Disneyland" exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum is going on tour and the first stop is the Oakland Museum of California. The exhibit opens on Saturday and runs through Aug. 20.

The 7,500-square-foot attraction features a wide variety of conceptional drawings from Disneyland's planning and construction stages, the original Abraham Lincoln Audio-Animatronic figure, and sections on Walt Disney's inspirations for the theme park. There are also cars and other elements from the rides themselves, including It's a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Indiana Jones ride.

Admission to the exhibit is not included in regular museum admission and requires an additional ticket. There are special reduced fees for the opening day.

See CBS5 for more. Additional information and pricing available at the museum website.

This will be a short hop down the freeway from Sacramento. I can't get there for a while but I'll let you know what I think when I do.
