News: Grand Rapids makes its debut at Michigan's Adventure

Posted at 3:22 PM EDT (1922 GMT)

May. 18th, 2006 -- The park's single most expensive attraction to date, at the cost of $5,000,000, opened yesterday.  Students attending physics day at the park were the first to take a journey down the attraction's harrowing white water river, which lasts for 2.5 minutes.

Once it becomes fully operational in time for the peak summer season, integrated water falls and geysers will soak adventurous riders.

The park also spent the off season building a new sit down restaurant. "Coasters" is a 1950's style restaurant diner concept serving burgers, fries, and milk shakes that has been successful at some of Cedar Fair's other parks including Knott's Berry Farm and Cedar Point.
