May. 19th, 2006 -- Last week Stanley and Margaret Nelson, the owners of Joyland Amusement Park, obtained an injunction against their operating partners Michael Moodenbaugh and Robert Barnard due to disputes between the pairs. The injunction prevented Moodenbaugh and Barnard from entering the park, along with their employees who were repairing the rides. Today the dispute has been resolved and the injunction has been lifted. In obtaining the injunction, the Nelsons claimed that Moodenbaugh had threatened to damage or change parts of the park. They also say that the operators owed about $3000 in utility fees. Today employees are back at work after Moodenbaugh and Barnard signed a lease-purchase agreement with the Nelsons. Under the terms of the deal, the operators will make lease payments to the Nelsons and eventually purchase the park. See the Wichita Business Journal and the Kansas City Star for more.
