News: Drop tower to arrive at Waldameer this year

Jul. 22nd, 2006 -- Waldameer guests have chosen what they want to see in the park with a "Name the Tower Ride" contest. The guests have chosen a 140 foot drop tower called "X-Scream".

The winner, Margo Carlson, picked the name and has the opportunity for her and 11 of her friends to ride the drop tower first in the late fall. The date hasn't been announced yet as to when she gets to ride.

She will also win a picnic next year for 20 people. Special opening days November 4th and 5th patrons over 48 inches tall can ride for $2.50. The money collected will be used for the Childrens Miracle Network for St. Vincents.
