News: Kings Island cancels WinterFest

Jul. 24th, 2006 -- Kings Island has cancelled WinterFest for the upcoming holiday season. The park's new owner, Cedar Fair, decided last year's low attendance figures did not warrant continuing the event.

For the 2005 season, Kings Island decided to bring back and revamp WinterFest, which had previously ran from 1982 to 1992. Despite welcoming thousands per day during 2005's WinterFest, Cedar Fair will not continue it. All tickets purchased in advance will be refunded.
