News: Busch Gardens Europe drops a 205-foot tall hint

Posted at 10:53 PM EDT (0253 GMT)

Aug. 11th, 2006 -- After months of speculation as to what Busch Gardens Europe is building for the 2007 season, the park has posted a very enticing teaser video on their website.

In the video, a point-of-view animation is shown of what appears to be a B&M Diving Machine coaster (also known to many as a Vertical Drop coaster) which would feature at least one drop straight down at a 90-degree angle.

This would make it the second installation of this type of coaster in North America.  The other is located at the park’s sister park Busch Gardens Africa in Florida.

The park has not disclosed any specific information about the new attraction, including the name, track length and top speed.  The park plans to "keep us hanging" until August 23, when more details about the ride will be unveiled.

Well that confirms it being a dive machine. Has been suspected for awhile, but this will defintely get me back to the park in 07.

Can't wait to see if this takes the Diving Machine concept further than what SheiKra did.

Well from the short video, I could see the main vertical drop and what appeared to be a Sheikra like near 90 degree drop from the left of the lift. Still no idea though on what inversion(s) or other element the ride features. I just really hopes it brings something new to the table (maybe they can work in that barrel roll they originally intended to have on Sheikra). Anyways, can't wait to see how this coaster turns out!

Looking at the layout in that video it will definely be different then Sheikra. The Second drop if it was like Sheikra would have been on the right hand side of the lift hill not the left so heres hoping for some awesomeness and length to this bad boy.

"Like nothing else in this world" because its a new type of ride to I'd bet 99% of BGWE's market.

Great teaser video. I really wanted a wood coaster. I didn't expect one but wanted one. So I'm not as exited as I could be. Good to see BGW geting a much needed 5th coaster.

^ With King's Mill next door and their history of protesting any loud ride, a wooden coaster will probably never happen at BGE.
