News: Cedar Point offers discount to Michigan residents

Posted at 8:43 AM EDT (1243 GMT)

Aug. 25th, 2006 -- Via Press Release:

The lazy days of summer are just about over, but there’s still time to plan a visit to Cedar Point, voted the World’s Best Amusement Park for eight years in a row!  Michigan residents can take advantage of the later start to the school year by visiting Cedar Point one last time, but with a special back-to-school discount!

Through Sunday, September 17, Michigan residents (ages 3-61, 48” and taller) can save $10 on a Cedar Point one-day admission ticket ($39.95)!   For only $29.95, Michigan residents can enjoy a full day of 68 adrenaline-pumping rides that includes 16 twisted coasters and so much more.  The Junior ticket (ages 3-61, under 48” tall) and Senior ticket (age 62 and older) will remain at only $9.95.

Cedar Point will be open daily through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4.  The park will reopen on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, beginning Sept. 8.

“With the school year starting a bit later than it has in the past, we wanted to provide Michigan residents the opportunity to squeeze in a last-minute trip to Cedar Point,” said Tim Walsh, director of marketing at Cedar Point.  “It is a great way to end the summer.”

This special admission offer can only be obtained at Cedar Point.  Valid proof of residency in the State of Michigan is required when purchasing tickets.  (A maximum of six admissions per purchase will be permitted.)

Yeah!!! I love being in Michigan. It's so great. We get school after Labor Day, AND we get a discount. How cool is that?
