News: Holiday World debuts Bakuli and Turkey Whirl in 07

Posted at 1:18 PM EDT (1718 GMT)

Sep. 6th, 2006 -- Via Press Release.

We're stirring up lots of fun in 2007! Next year Bakuli, our new family water slide in Splashin' Safari will debut. Bakuli (pronounced bah-COOL-ee) is the Swahili word for "bowl" and that is exactly where this takes you—swirling round and round in a huge, colorful bowl! Start seven stories up and climb into a four-person cloverleaf raft. You'll be launched into a very dark, very steep tunnel that's full of surprises. You know how The Voyage has three 90-degree curves? So does Bakuli!

And you know how Zinga flings you into a huge funnel? Bakuli drops you into a gigantic purple, green and yellow bowl that measures 60 feet across! Around and around the high-banked bowl you'll slide and then drop into one last tunnel. Are where do you end up? Right in the middle of the island at Bahari River! Bakuli will (dare we say it?) bowl you over, it's so much fun.

Over the river and through the woods, in Holiday World, there's a new ride being cooked up for our Thanksgiving section. Your entire family will want to take a spin on the Turkey Whirl! This new themed tilt-a-whirl is truly fun gone a-fowl. And the only leftovers will be your laughter!

In 2007, the Plymouth Rock Café also opens in the Thanksgiving section. Make sure your family gathers together to savor the mouth-watering flavors of Thanksgiving dinner in this new cafeteria-style restaurant.

Satisfied? At Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, you can always go back for more!

Well, no real surprises there. Nice filler rides for a small park, though.

Very nice additions to the park. Didn't they remove a Tilt-a-Whirl last year for Voyages construction?

Good additions. Still would have rather seen a body slide for Splashin' Safari. But this slide should still be cool.

I would have preferred the bowl slide where you drop straight through to a pool, but that is nice, too.

We have that Bowl slide prototype over here and I'm glad to see that the concept has gone from just a perfectly straight boring forty foot drop to this one with new twists.

TILT A WHIRL? They are starting to act like lake winnie, "lets just take a ride away gring it back in a couple of years and call it new!"

^I know.

Don't act like you are bringing a new ride in when all your doing is rebuilding something you have taken out, that's not new that's recycling. lol.
