Multimedia: New BORG Assimilator Update

Feb. 25th, 2004 -- New BORG Assimilator construction photos. Construction continues to progress and steel erection is coming close to completion. These photos show the completed station, train and corkscrew.

TrainThe Train: Workers continue to install fencing around the ride's queue line as one of the coaster's trains sits waiting for it's first run, which occurred Thursday, Feb. 19 at 8:30 p.m.

StationThe Station: This photo shows the view as you walk around the back of the coaster and into the loading station.

corkscrewThe Corkscrew: Winding through the trees and over the water, the coaster's final two inversions are two corkscrew turns, viewed here from beside the Wild Thornberrys' Outpost Canteen in Nickelodeon Central.

The setting looks so much better than it did at PGA. I can't wait to see what it looks like when all the leaves on those trees go in. This could be the coolest setting of a Vekoma flyer.

The trees will make for some great illusions. The ride looks like it will be a great fit and another great coaster at Carowinds. Now all they need are some flat rides. :)

It looks like its coming along good. I love how the corkscrews are going through the wooded area.

Just wait till we see the water added around the ride, and the pathways that cut through underneath the ride!

The water sounds good. I think Carowinds is making better use of the land around the ride then the six flags parks did with their flyers. It will be cool to be standing and a path and have people flying over head.

I like the direction Carowinds is heading. I might even have to make a trip there either this year or next !!
