News: Hong Kong Disneyland announces annual pass plan

Posted at 6:06 PM EDT (2206 GMT)

Sep. 28th, 2006 -- After failing to meet a target of 5.6 million visitors in its first year, Hong Kong Disneyland announced today that it is introducing a variety of annual plans. There are three types of passes based on when they allow admittance; weekdays only, weekdays and weekends with 25 non-specified days, and year-round.

For each type of pass, prices are different from children, adults, and senior citizens. The least-expensive pass, about $47.50, is for children and is applicable on weekdays only. The most expensive, over $230, grants adult admission year-round. People who buy the passes within the next three months will receive discounts for hotel dining and accommodations.

Some passes will be limited in supply as a means of crowd control. Some travel agents are also complaining that the passes are too expensive.

$230 for a season pass to the place. That is way to much. I would never buy that.

If $230 is too much, then try their $83.46 pass. That will get one adult into HKDL for about 230 days (weekends and holidays blocked out) in a year.

^I'm not going, but it still seems like alot for a season pass. I don't know because I've never been there but I have heard that it isn't really that good and it's too small. So just from that $230 to get a full year season pass I think is alot.

The park doesn't have the number of themed areas as the other Disney Magic Kingdoms. So yes it's smaller. also it hasn't opened but has planes for a number of rides like POTC that are found at other parks.

While $230 is a bit pricey I think I could skip the holidays and Go with the 83.46 which isn't great but not terribly bad.
