News: Disney reacts to Minnie Mouse sex video

Posted at 10:01 AM EDT (1401 GMT)

Oct. 14th, 2006 -- Employees at Disneyland Paris were caught simulating sex dressed as Disney characters including Minnie Mouse, while filming a digital video that has received wide attention on the Internet.

The video appears to have been shot backstage in a dressing room at the Paris resort.

"The behavior shown on the video is unacceptable and inexcusable," Disney said in a statement.

Disney said they took “appropriate action” against the employees but would not say whether they had dismissed the employees.

You have to be pretty stupid to post it on you tube and not expect something to happen.

Well if Disney didn't terminate them they should. Because something like this can really hurt their image. And I would make it public that I had fired them if I where them to make sure that it would prove that it is unexceptable.

Well Joe "every body's got a laughing place!"

anyways What is firing them going to do it happened it's out. Hell it's Frigging Paris for god sack. The park s never did fit the Disney idealisme. I can see reprimanding them. but are you going ro fire literally 20-25 people for this. all the Costumed characters involved and the handlers that stood around laughing. Announcing that those people were fired will do little to nothing because most people likely don't know it ever happened.

Yea, thats it. It really is not that bad, its just people bored. If they were in public, it would be different. Just one guy looked like he had a hidden camera. I am sure if the people in the costumes knew they were being filmed, they would not have done it. When I first read about it, I thought they actually made a real video that was susosed to be like an actual sex tape, but it is just people in a dressing room.

The point is they acted inappropriatly not only at the work place but on the clock so yeah they should be fired and the idiot who posted the video on youtube should be smacked upside the head.

Disney terminates cast members for much less.

So yeah, they will all probably be terminated.

"The video shows Minnie Mouse struggling to free herself as she is grabbed from behind by Goofy and then a giant snowman."

LOL.

This does not look planned at all. Just people making jokes. Talk about blowing something out of proportion.

To Chris L: Look again. Goofy and the Snowman are trying to hump Minnie.

This was as stupid as all get out. This kind of thing has always been a sore point with Disney. When I was in high school Disney sued to have a "Disney after Dark" poster taken off the market. The poster showed Disney characters taking drugs and having sex. Donald Duck is shown cussing out Dumbo, who has just dropped a "load" while flying over him.

You don't have to be as dumb as a bag of hammers to do this but it helps. All of the people in the video - and their supervisors - should be canned.

I really don't see the big deal! It's not like they're doing this out on Main Street in front of all the families and little kids! It's just the employees having fun on their free time, in private so I don't get what all the hype is about.

^ It's all about using a brand in a wrong way.

I work for a large bank and if I went around with a bank shirt on saying that my employer was a terrible employer or doing a sex video or whatever it would be bad press for the company.

It basically comes down to putting a company in a bad light.

For starters This if being blown out of proportion. I have to agree they didn't do this in main street. and if some one hadn't a video taped it no one would have ever cared. Disney Goes over board. Suing Preschool for painting mickey mouse of there walls. so it wouldn't surprise me if the Main companies wants to pull a fit. but keep in mind this is Euro Disney not The US. A large park for the park is owned by different people.

was it a Dumb thing to do? sure. But do they deserve being fired over it. Disney doesn't pay all that well. they demand allot. So why complain when some employees are playing around. and with the Flop that Euro Disney is they need all the Employees and staff they can to salvage the park.

^I agree mrceagle, it seems you're the only one who listened to me. ;)

Link removed? It's not like I posted porno or anything!

Anyways, I think it's dsigusting what a big deal they make out of things like like this, and yeah that thing with suing the preschool for painting mickey mouse just shows the greedy scum that they are.

It was basically just joking around, it wouldn't have been a big deal if the idiot hadn't filmed it and PUT IT ON YOUTUBE. Filming backstage is also a no-no. At the very least, the guy that filmed it and put it on youtube should be fired, at least.

Ok people if you don't understand why this would be a big deal you aren't going to be running a large coperation anytime soon. Because it's things like this that put the company in a bad spotlight. If people saw this and saw that Disney didn't do anything about it then people would think that Disney thinks it is all right. I know of course we all know Disney doesn't think that it's all right but to the average person they are going to associate that video with the company. And if Disney doesn't do something about it then that says to all of those people that think it is wrong that Disney doesn't care.

So I think that every single person that was caught on the tape and the person filiming should be fired. Because it hurts the companies image. Which is one of the most important things for any company to have is a good image.

It does not take business person to releaize why alot of people are saying fire them. Because to business' it's all about the image.

Bowserjoe the link was removed because ThrillNetwork has a policy that all content be "family friendly".

The video was not, as a result the link was removed.

If someone wants to view the video they only need to go search on youtube.

That's what I'm talking about even Thrillnetwork removes the link to keep the "family friendly" image.

And that is basically what I'm saying about Disney to keep the good "family friendly" image they should fire the people.
