News: Hard Rock Park announces contracted ride suppliers

Posted at 10:46 PM EST (0346 GMT)

Nov. 15th, 2006 -- Officials for the Hard Rock Park - currently in development in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - announced the names of the companies that have been contracted to supply the park's rides. Scheduled to open in spring 2008, the $400 million Hard Rock Park will have approximately 40 attractions.

Walter Bolliger, president of the Bolliger & Mabillard, said his company will team with the park to build a highly choreographed ride experience that will feature an audio element.

Other companies that have signed on with the park include Premier Rides, Chance-Morgan, Vekoma, Huss, and the Sally Corporation.

In addition, it is also known that Morris Architects, the Orlando firm responsible for the design of the Men in Black ride at Universal Studios Florida, will be the architect of the Hard Rock Park.

Wow! There are some big names there. I am excited and I live nowhere near Myrtle Beach. I just hope the Vekoma isn't an SLC or a Boomerang of any sort.

^ The article mentioned that the park would be installing ONE roller coaster. Bolliger & Mabillard was contracted to do that, obviously considering out of all those contracted manufacturers, B&M is the only one that supplies roller coasters and nothing else. So no worries about any Vekoma Boomerangs or SLC's. The rest will be supplying the smaller rides.

How rude. Someone (not me) deleted my comment about there being a better article on Ultimate Rollercoaster. I wasn't referring to the "copy and paste" article above, but to the fact that the article on URC is better THAN the articles in the Myrtle Beach Sun News and Orlando Sentinel that you link to. Now do you understand? It wasn't a rude comment.

Why does TN seem to have a problems with any mention of another coaster site.
