Posted at 12:25 AM EST (0525 GMT) Nov. 17th, 2006 -- Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark announced a plan to construct a luxury hotel tower in the city. The proposed hotel, which would include apartments, would stand 335 feet tall, making it one of the tallest buildings in Copenhagen.
Park manager Lars Liebst said the plan is part of an effort to move Tivoli from seasonal operation to year-round. Currently the park itself is only open from mid-April to mid-September and in December, though it recently opened for the first time in fall for a week-long holiday. Tivoli Gardens hope the hotel will be open by late 2010. They are in talks with Four Seasons Hotels to operate it. See the Houston Chronicle for more.
