News: Palace Entertainment acquires WaterWorld USA from Six Flags

Nov. 17th, 2006 -- Former WaterWorld USA in Sacramento, CA has been acquired from Six Flags Inc. by Palace Entertainment, the parent company of numerous water parks and family entertainment centers across the country.

The water park has been renamed Raging Waters Sacramento and is to reopen in May of 2007.

In addition to plans to improve the existing facilities, Palace Entertainment is currently working on a major new attraction for next season that will be announced soon

Palace Entertainment now owns and operates seventeen parks in California, employing more than 3,300 people.

I guess that means they've given up on selling all the properties in one big lump sale. That's good, I think they'll have better luck selling them individually.

Six Flags didn't do much by way of maintenance on the park. Palace Entertainment has some work to do. As I'm sure they know.

Palace entertainment isn't a bad Company they own the Raging waters, NC's Wetn' wild, and many other Stand alone water parks including my local Water park Water Country(New England's largest). They also own a number of games centers like Boomers, Speed zone, and others. The chain runs a couple of small parks, Silver Springs in Florida and Castle park in Riverside CA.
