News: Kentucky Kingdom starts water park expansion

Jan. 16th, 2007 -- Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom has begun water park construction for the 2007 season. The park declined to give details and will announce their plans on January 26th.

The water park will be renamed Splashwater Kingdom and will increase in size by about 10 to 15 percent, following a growing trend within the industry of water park expansion.

The expansion is being billed as the largest in Kentucky Kingdom's history. More shaded areas, private cabanas and more water attractions for children will be added to make the experience more family oriented.
