News: Wiggles World coming to Great America in 2007

Posted at 1:49 AM EST (0649 GMT)

Jan. 17th, 2007 -- Six Flags Great America is preparing for a family-oriented 2007 with the addition of Wiggles World.

Wiggle's World will capitalize on the recognition surrounding the Wiggles, the most popular children's entertainers in the world, park spokesman Jim Taylor said.

"This children's area is designed to be an oasis in the park where families can congregate and experience the thrills that Six Flags Great America is," he said. "When people talk about thrills, they talk about the American Eagle. But thrills for a child is different, and this area will be thrilling for children."

The new area will feature themed rides and attractions designed for children of ages 2 to 6 --- including include the Big Red Car, the Big Red Plane, Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cups, Bouncin' with Wags, Henry's Splash Fountain and the S.S. Feathersword Pirate Ship.

In addition to themed rides and attractions, the area will also have a food court with healthy meals specially prepared for younger children.

The real Wiggles are slated for a live appearance and performance at Great America sometime during the 2007 season.

Great America is one of three Six Flags brand parks introducing the Wiggles World childrens area in 2007.

Oh my god, Shapiro really is insane! THREE kids' sections in one park?! They already had one too many!

And the Wiggles?! Children could be abducted and abused daily!

The park is already family oriented enough! If he honestly wants to make it even more family oriented, this is the wrong way to go. A family-sized flat, maybe, but this is too much.

Yeah, steel, I am sure that kids will be abducted and abused daily. You are young and don't understand what children's programming is about. They might be annoying to you, but they are the best when it comes to preschoolers tv programs.

If you were a parent you would realize that the wiggles are a god send. They teach pre-schoolers life skills as well as pretending and dancing and singing.

Shapiro not Snyer made the decision to make things more family oriented including families with toddlers. At least it will give them something in their own age range.

So before you go spouting off at the mouth, learn what you are talking about first then comment.

You don't need to bite my head off. I understand that they can be helpful to little kids. They just don't seem at all natural to me. And their songs are not fun to listen to for hours on end.

I could actually go off on a tangent about why children's programming should be cut off alltogether, but I will stop here. ;)

Well I think that it is a really good idea for them to add the Wiggles World. It should really help in attracting the family crowd that Six Flags wants/needs so badly.

At least SFGAm is getting a new area. From the Video most of the attractions will be family friendly allowing adults to ride with there kids. But I don't think SFI will get the use of of This brand they think they will.

That still doesn't change the fact that they already have two other kids' areas.
