Jan. 18th, 2007 -- VIA PRESS RELEASE:

AGAWAM, MA — Six Flags New England announces a newly-themed area, "Wiggles World," the park's second area devoted to kids offering new pint-sized adventures designed just for them.

"Today's announcement represents Six Flags New England's continued focus on family entertainment," said Larry Litton, Six Flags New England's Park President. "In addition to our world-class coaster collection and unparalleled line-up of thrill rides including the #1 steel coaster SUPERMAN Ride of Steel, the park now features Wiggles World, a distinct area devoted to families with young children, offering entertainment and thrills for all ages."

The Wiggles are the most popular children's entertainers in the world, and "Wiggles World" will be designed to leverage their vast recognition and status among children ages 2-6. Since 1991, The Wiggles have performed to more than 1 million audience members a year. To date, they have sold more than 22 million DVDs and videos and more than
5 million albums worldwide, and The Wiggles' successful television show has been broadcast on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney since 2002.

"Wiggles World," the park's second area devoted exclusively to children, will feature specially-themed rides and attractions including The Big Red Car ride, The Big Red Plane ride, Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cups, Wags Doggie-Copters and the S.S. Feathersword Pirate Ship just to name a few! The area will also include retail locations selling Wiggles merchandise and a restaurant, the Yummy Yummy Café, said Melissa Pinkerton Public Relations Manager.

"Wiggles World" will be populated by The Wiggles' cast of supporting characters: Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus, who will pose for photos and perform in daily shows. The Wiggles themselves — Anthony, Sam, Jeff and Murray — will make an appearance and perform at the park in 2007.

The new Wiggles World is slated for a spring 2007 opening. Guests can receive up-to-the-minute park news on www.sixflags.com.

While I'm not a fan of the Wiggles and I'm Disappointed there only revamping an existing kiddie land for this, I'm not as annoyed as you too seem to be. For starters they are only installing them in 3 hole parks so far. they added haw many Loony toons National parks over the last 2 years?

Personally I think this is a bad move. they aren't adding anything new to the park just re branding. The Wiggles may not even be around in 5 years. The lead Singer is sick and will Disney keep showing a show that will help out another park chain.

Another thing is by the time a child is around 3 there 36 in. That means to Bring your child to SFNE and Wiggles world your looking at 29.99 for you children and 50 for each of you. Why would a Boston, Eastern MA, Central/norther VT, Southern NH, Southern ME, etc go to SFNE for Wiggles world when for $23 a person they can go st Storm land In Glen, NH with 21 rides, 3 shows, and something around 40 other attractions (7 are Play themed play areas/ 3 themed mist tents) or $21 they can go to Santa's Village with 18 family rides and a number of other attractions including real reindeer, at the same of slightly less travel time. or even better Canobie Lake Park Which offers 17 kiddie rides, 3 water rides that can be ridden with an adult, and 14 family Rides, 6 other rides, and New England largest water play Structure. Oh and a family coaster. Kids 4 years old - 48" is $19, Senior 60+ $19, and 28 regular admission.

Wiggles might help draw the families but the park doesn't offer anything more. Families left SFNE do to its price I don't think they will return for Wiggles. They won't add much value.
