Posted at 9:16 AM EST (1416 GMT)

Jan. 31st, 2007 -- According to sources, Nickelodeon is in the final stages of negotiating an exclusive branding-rights deal with The Park at Mall of America, formerly known as Camp Snoopy.

The Star Tribune reports that Nickelodeon would design rides for the seven-acre park inspired by such shows as The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, My Life as a Teenage Robot and Rugrats.  Costumed characters such as Spongebob and Dora the Explorer would roam the park as well.

This would be a good move for the park. They need trademark characters again.

^^ No I don't think so. If you go to other parks you'll see Spongebob stuff.

They ran a Spongebob film at Dollywood not too long ago and such.

Basically if anyone pays the bucks, Nick will let them use their charecters.

Every park needs an aliance with some cartoon characters just for the theming advantage it gives. So I'd like to see them get something.

I also wonder why thier love affair with the Peanuts is over.

Anyone who wanted to ride the Mystery Mine Ride before it closes should consider getting there soon. One of my coworkers there received a letter from New Horizon (partially on top of the Mystery Mine Ride) saying that they will be closing as of 2/23 to make way for a "new attraction coming to The Park."
