Posted at 4:35 PM EST (2135 GMT)

Feb. 27th, 2007 -- Press Release via PRNewswire -

Six Flags and Chase Card Services, a division of JPMorgan Chase & Co. today announced a marketing and sponsorship relationship under which Chase will become a Six Flags Corporate Alliance partner and the Official Credit Card Issuer of Six Flags for all its U.S. parks.

The companies will collaborate on innovative in-park marketing and promotional initiatives, and Chase will become the first official sponsor of Six Flags' "Read to Succeed" literary initiative, which promotes reading to over 1.5 million students in nearly 18,000 participating schools nationwide. Through this alliance, all Chase Six Flags cardmembers will receive special offers at Six Flags that include admission and in-park discounts.

Other new marketing and promotional activities include:

    - Chase will receive advertising billboards, broadcast announcements and customer acquisition opportunities in all Six Flags parks.  Chase promotions will also appear on SixFlags.com, and the companies will work together on ticket incentive programs for Chase credit card and banking customers;

    - Six Flags marketing messages will be included in Chase statement
      mailings and emails.  Chase has over 100 million cardmembers;

    - Chase will become an official sponsor of Hispanic events at Six Flags parks around the country;

    - Six Flags promotions will appear on Chase's cardmember Web site, linking directly to SixFlags.com where cardmembers will find special membership ticket offers;

    - Chase will be the official sponsor of Holiday in the Park, a December event which features holiday and winter themed shows at Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

"This agreement with Chase highlights the key strength of what we offer
our Corporate Alliance partners -- a broad portfolio of non-traditional
marketing tools that serve to both attract new members and reward partners' most loyal customers," said Mark Shapiro, Six Flags President and CEO.

"Six Flags has been a terrific partner over the years, and our alliance
gives Chase a great opportunity to market to millions of new consumers in the parks as well as through new sponsorship opportunities, with the bonus that we can also provide benefits to our existing customers," said Hugh Bleemer, executive vice president, Chase Card Services. "We look forward to working with Six Flags to develop even more innovative marketing and promotional options in the future."

Next up Six Flags will sell the rights to the offical porta pottys of Six Flags. LOL

I mean this one makes sense, but sheesh some of these are getting a bit rediculous.

But I guess if it helps them get out of debt it's a good thing.

So that's how many marketing ties Six Flags has made over the past year alone? Let's count them:

1) Home Depot
2) Chase Card Services
3) Nintendo
4) Papa John's
5) Coldstone Creamery
6) Kodak
7) Heintz

The New York area electronics chain, The Wiz, is gone. I remember hearing the story how someone put a "Nobody beats the Wiz" sticker on the urinal once.

Ya they know were the money is. they need there money because more and more people are not wanting to go to SFI parks. I don't think Thomas and Wiggles are going to help them much. Especially at there high prices.
