Posted at 2:53 PM EST (1953 GMT)

Mar. 2nd, 2007 -- Disney is planning two new additions to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. but neither are thrill rides.

The Walt Disney Co. will be building a new resort which includes a Four Seasons hotel, a new golf course and vacation condos.  Work will begin this year with the hotel expected to open in 2010.

A new pedestrian-friendly development with hotels, stores and restaurants is also planned for the resort property.  This additional development will center around a retail village and be built in phases over the next decade.

I don't like that Disney is allowing other brands on the property. It cheapens the whole resort, IMO.

I thought Disney was having trouble filling up the hotels they already have...why are they building more?

Four Seasons, one of the most prestigious and well respected brands in the world cheapens the whole resort?

If anything this is a step-up for Walt Disney World Resort as they will finally have a first-class hotel on property.

This is really weired. They are going to sell 450 acres so that a developer can Build the type of Concrete jungle Disney wanted to avoid when he bought all that land in Florida.

They want to annex off Homes to Orange County. OK How do they expect to get fire Trucks and other Emergency Vehicles in there. there not Disney's responsibility. the move makes no sense.

I could care less about the golf course. there removing 2 courses adding luxury hotel and getting a new Course doesn't sound terrible.

This is not weird or strange. Do you think Disney is giving up they're entire say on what will be built and how it will be built? No. There is huge difference between what Walt Disney was referring to and what will happen here. He was referencing Harbor Blvd in Anaheim. Disney had no say or control on what happened there.

Just because you annex homes off to a county doesn't mean that services aren't provided. Orange County has emergency services that they will provide to the residents of this area.

And they are how far away? You have families Living Within Disney property. That is a huge deference from a time share.

as for the 450 acres They are selling that They can do whatever they want and Disney has no say.
