News: Six Flags to open six Johnny Rockets franchise locations in 2007

Posted at 9:48 PM EDT (0148 GMT)

Mar. 21st, 2007 -- Six Flags has formed a strategic marketing alliance with Johnny Rockets restaurants which will allow the amusement park operator to open and operate franchise locations inside its parks. Under the alliance, Johnny Rockets will pay Six Flags an annual sponsorship fee.

Six Flags will build 26 franchise locations in its parks over the course of the next three years. The first six locations are slated to open this year at Great America, Over Texas, Magic Mountain, St. Louis, Fiesta Texas, and Great Adventure.

Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, who won a proxy fight to take over Six Flags two years ago recently acquired Johnny Rockets through his private equity firm.

SFOG ignored?!? Consider the multi-million dollar attraction they got last year... then look at SFA...

Yet another "marketing alliance" by Six Flags! But, I think this one is a pretty good move. With all the name-brand food items to choose from, people may be more willing to spend more money knowing that they will like the food they order... unlike the park food at most parks that everyone dreads.

Daniel Snyder has to be one of the smartest buisness men - He gained control of Six Flags, bought Johnny Rockets, and now is installing these cool eatery spots in the Parks. Great!

With Papa Johns, Cold Stone, Panda Express, and now Johnny Rockets; great eats are abundant.

Wake me when they open a good steakhouse - I'd even settle for Stuart Anderson's Black Angus......

I don't think that most people would want to eat things that are as filling as a steak meal and then go ride roller coasters let alone walk around in the summer heat. Black angus is a great resturant though..........

I agree - I'm thinking of the parents who have children who are old enough to be turned loose - and would like a good meal while the kids play. Granville's at the Disneyland Hotel is an example of this.
